What makes it so much fun?
When is the last time you played kickball? It’s a pretty good equalizer. So whether you are young, just young at heart, big, small, thin or tall, you too can kick a ball and run the bases. Kickball for Kids exists solely to benefit a Westville area child with medical needs that financially are greater than the family can provide. It is an avenue for the local community to support that child’s needs. This annual fundraiser carried out each year by local volunteers, and the goal is simple; each year a child with medical needs is selected and their friends and family host a tournament to raise money for their expenses. 100% of all profits go to the family thanks to the generous support of local business, volunteers, and families.

Aside from kickball being the minimally taxing, great time that it is, there is a lot more going on. We’ve got rows of corn hole boards set up, pick up volleyball games going on and quite possibly badminton this year. Perhaps you’d rather enjoy the day from the sidelines with your friends and family. There is plenty of seating in the shade throughout the park to enjoy a port-a-pit chicken lunch and listen to the music as the DJ keeps the atmosphere upbeat and festive. Did I mention that there’s a spirit award?

What is fun about fundraising?
The rules of this tournament are simple. First, we’re all here for a FUNdraiser. Second, the referee is always right, so please, let your inner child shine and leave your competitive drive for domination at home.

The single elimination kickball tournament begins at 8 am and ends when the winner is crowned (normally around 3pm ). Teams of all ages and skill level are invited. 3 days before the event, your team captain will be notified of your official start time.

Now at this point I’m sure you’ve already made sure Saturday, September 10th, 2011 is clear on your calendar,

BUT WAIT….THERE’S MORE!
As the day progresses amid the general enthusiasm that always defines kickball for kids, we’re raffling off the fantastic items that area businesses have generously donated. Let me tell you, this event brings out the best in everyone. The businesses that support Kickball for kids really go all out for this fantastic cause. A 50/50 raffle sends someone home a little better off than they came, but every aspect of this event works together to greatly benefit a child in need of support for medical expenses and it isn’t possible without YOU. I know you’re coming, but print out a sign up sheet (available here) and get your crew together!

We are going to raffle off 8 or so large pizzas from all the best pizza shops around Westville. Tickets are a dollar! Click here: Ultimate Pizza Challenge
